Falling mason.... oh forget it

This has tickled me every time I walk past it. The walkway between the station and Matalan in Aberystwyth is obviously either having some work done on it, or they're having problems with the state of the roof/wall above it so much so that they've decided to warn passers-by. Instead of the usual brightly coloured warning signs, we get some chalked up scrawls on the brick walls...
OK, a number of questions have to be asked. Why is 'danger' in quotation marks? What's with the brackets? And why has masonry been spelled with an 'a'? A bit further down the wall...
I think by the time the poor workman had got to the end of the wall, he'd had enough of the sodding 'm' word...
