We're halfway through our Christmas shopping weekend for this year and we've had a very productive time!
Christmas shopping can be something you either love or dread. Usually I'm the latter. I can't think of what to buy people, can't remember who I've still got left to buy for and whatever whilst trawling around shops getting barged around by fellow shoppers.
In fact, my best shopping experience was about five years ago when I did my Christmas shopping entirely online. Got it all delivered to work so there was no worry about no-one being at home and for the pressies that weren't in nice easy-to-wrap boxes, chose the 'gift wrap this item' option. Sorted.
Last year, though, my partner and I tried something different. We paid a visit to Parc Trostre and Parc Pemberton in Llanelli, stayed in the on-site hotel and got the majority of Christmas shopping done over a weekend.
It's a fantastic thing to do and it was such a good experience, we've done it again this year. In fact, I'm sat in the hotel room right now typing this, my better half's dropping off to sleep in bed behind me, but to my right are about half a dozen shopping bags full of nicely wrapped Christmas gifts.
That's right - they're wrapped too! The weather turned miserable so we headed to Pizza Hut for some dinner then checked in to the hotel room with our wares and began wrapping.
With QI night on Dave and a mobile broadband USB stick for decent access to the outside world we were all done by 8pm.
All that's left is to have a bit of a lie-in tomorrow morning, before hitting the shops again - before the crowds really start! - and get the final few presents off our list. Believe me, there's only about four gifts left to buy so it really has been a worthwhile adventure.
1 weekend + 2 retail parks = Christmas shopping, done!
